Mixteco Ballet Folklórico - First Prize Winner

 

 

Mixteco Ballet Folkloric is a non-profit organization committed to the preservation, study and diffusion of the Mexican culture and traditions. José Sada, founder of this organization in 1992 in Houston Texas, emphasizes in the strong mental and physical discipline of the dancers. Since its conception, “Mixteco” has had overwhelming success in performances throughout Texas and Mexico

 


 

Mixteco Balet Folklórico es una organización sin fines de lucro dedicada a la preservación, y educación de las costumbres tradiciones y la cultura mexicana. José Sada  fundó esta organización en 1992 en Houston, Texas donde actualmente dirige enfatizando la disciplina física y mental de sus integrantes, teniendo exitosas presentaciones en Texas y México.

Ballet Folklórico Tapatío - Second Prize Winner

 

 

Ballet Folklórico Tapatío, a non-profit organization, was co-founded in 1997 by Lic. Sergio Valle, master teacher and choreographer, and Mr. Eduardo Baca, Board President, with three couples who practiced in the backyard of the Baca residence. The group immediately gained popularity and currently, Ballet Folklórico Tapatío has over 125 members with four different dance levels; Beginning, Advanced Beginning, Intermediate, and Masters. The mission of Ballet Folklórico Tapatío is to provide a healthy and educational environment in which children learn about Mexican culture and its history through traditional, regional dances. The group has traveled throughout the United States and México, including Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, Guadalajara, Jalisco in México and throughout all of Southern Arizona. In 2004, Ballet Folklórico Tapatío represented not only Tucson, but the state of Arizona, at the Southwestern International United Folkórico Invitational (SIUFI) and won third place; the first competition in the history of the group! Last year, Ballet Folklórico Tapatío proudly represented the state of Arizona at the Second Annual International Mexican Folkloric Dance Competition of the Northeastern Region, and took second place in the competition. This year, Ballet Folklorico Tapatio is honored to have been invited to the Third Annual Mexican Folkloric Dance Competition of the Northeastern Region, and is proud to represent the state of Arizona!

 


 

Estampas Folklóricas Mexicanas - Third Prize Winner

 

 

The Folkloric Ballet “Estampas Folklóricas Mexicanas” was founded on December 12 2000, during the festivities of the virgin Guadalupe. Its members are responsible for running their own expenses, such as costume among others. Their main goal is to offer the world the best of the Mexican folklore and traditions, which is reflected in every member’s mind and spirit.

 


 

El Ballet folklórico “Estampas Folklóricas Mexicanas” inició el 12 de Diciembre del 2000, con motivo de las festividades Guadalupanas. Los gastos económicos requeridos para el mantenimiento del ballet, tales como vestuario entre otros, son aportaciones de sus integrantes, quienes reflejan en mente y espiritu el valor de sus tradiciones y el anhelo de entregar al mundo el folklór mexicano.

Council Ballet Folklorico

 

 

The Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council Ballet Folklorico began in the month of July of 1994. 

The mission is to promote, preserve, and spread the popular traditions of our cultural inheritance that our ancestors bestowed amongst us. Our vision is to be one of the finest and posses the utmost Mexican Folkloric dance group in the entire United States of America. 

The BYNC Ballet Folklorico won international recognition by winning first place in the “Viva Aztlan Theater and Dance Competition in Lubbock, Texas for two consecutive years in 1999 and 2000.  In addition, the Ballet won the competition Challenge USA in both regional that took place in Chicago and national in Los Angeles

 


 

Folkloric Ballet Mixcoatl

 

 

Folkloric Ballet Mixcoatl was founded in 1993 with students from the” Plantel 4 del Colegio del Estado de Chihuahua”, a College from the State of  Chihuahua in  Mexico. Throughout the time, the ballet is formed by young workers and students of all backgrounds and social status. The ballet has participated in different cultural festivals and events in  Mexico,  Spain,  Portugal,  Italy,   Bulgary,  South Korea and Sultanato de Oman.

 


 

Formado en 1993, con alumnos exclusivamente del Plantel 4 del Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Chihuahua . Al paso del tiempo, el Balet se integra por jóvenes tanto estudiantes como trabajadores de diferentes escuelas e instituciones de nivel medio y superior, asi como diversas empresas de la cuidad. El ballet ha participado en diversos festivales artísticos y eventos culturales realizados en México, España, Portugal, Italia, Bulgaria, Corea del Sur y el Sultanato de Omán.

 


 

Folkloric Dance Mexico Lindo

 

 

 

Folkloric Dance Mexico Lindo, founded in November 14 1999, is a group form by children, teenagers and adults from the Community of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 2000, the Group Mexico Lindo had its first public performance; since then, the group has increased its performances in various places around the State of Minnesota. The group was founded due to the need crate for children, youth and adults of Minneapolis a positive program to empower time and energy to develop and to provide a fun and safe environment. Thirty dancers compose the group, and until now, they perform dances from 15 different regions of Mexico. The group is working hard to increase their repertoire in order to keep on pleasing the audience.

 


 

Grupo de Danza Folklórica México Lindo, fundado el 14 de Noviembre de 1999, es un grupo formado por niños, jóvenes y adultos, procedentes de la Comunidad de la Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús en Minneapolis, Minnesota. En el 2000 el grupo llevó a cabo su primera presentación pública y desde entonces sus presentaciones han aumentado, incluyendo varios lugares del Estado de Minnesota. Su nacimiento se debe a la necesidad de crear un programa positivo en el que los niños, jóvenes, y adultos de Minneapolis inviertan su tiempo y energía para desarrollar un ambiente divertido y seguro. El grupo esta conformado por 30 bailarines,  y representan bailes de 15 diferentes regiones de México. El grupo esta trabajando muy fuerte para aumentar su repertorio y así r complacer a todo el público en general.

 


 

 Xochipilli, Grupo Folklórico de Santa Cruz

 

 

Xochipilli, Grupo Folklórico de Santa Cruz is a Mexican dance company founded in April 2002. Its debut show was held in November 2004, with a sold out performance with an audience in excess of 685 viewers. The group is currently has twenty active members, most of which are Santa Cruz County residents. Xochipilli is regularly contracted throughout the year. Highlights include: performances in  California, Oregon, as well as the honor of being the closing act for the prestigious “San Jose Festival of Cultures” in 2005.

 


 

Xochipilli, Grupo Folklórico de Santa Cruz, es una compañía de danza folklórica Mexicana fundada en Abril del 2002. El debut de Xochipilli se llevó acabo en Noviembre del 2004, cuya presentación tuvo una audiencia de más de 685 personas, alcanzando así el cupo límite del teatro. Actualmente el grupo se compone de veinte integrantes, que incluye en su gran mayoría residentes del condado de Santa Cruz. Eventos en los cuales se ha destacado la participación del grupo incluyen: presentaciones por todo California, Oregón y el honor de ser la actuación de clausura para el “Festival de Culturas de la Ciudad de San Jose” en el 2005.
