Dance Competition Rules and Regulation For the 2008 Dance Competition

1. All Judges Decisions are final.

2. Be advised that this event is exclusively for traditional Mexican regional folkloric dances.

3. All participants must be in New York two days before the event.

4. A minimum of 6 couples per group is required to participate with a maximum of 12 couples per group.

5. Every participating group in the competition should submit two monograph of the state they representing one month prior to the event:1) for the judges explaining the characteristics of the dance they are performing and the group information. 2) an outline of the dance the group is going to perform in English and Spanish for publication of the program (the outline should not be longer than a paragraph of 7 lines).

6. Every group performing in the competition must show a  professional or semiprofessional dance level.

7. All dance groups must use the same stage backdrop and the same lighting scene for evaluations purposes. (No exceptions)

8. Music can be either recorded or live. Judges will take into consideration the originality of the interpretations not the fact that the music is live or recorded

9. It is mandatory that a representatives of each participating group attend the meeting that will be held on Friday, September 19th, 2008 at 1:00 PM. Place and time to be announced. 

10. In order to participate in this competition your group must be pre-registered and have paid the non-refundable registration fee in the amount $50.00 and sent a video in VHS or DVD format 2 months prior the event. (NO EXCEPTIONS)

11. On the day of the competition all groups must check in at the registration table in the Lobby area of the Theater, Saturday, September 20^th, 2008.at 3:00 P.M. Mandatory rehearsal will take place Sept. 20^th at 4 P.M.

12. All performances are limited to a maximum of 12 (twelve) minutes of stage performance, including entry and exit time from the stage. No exceptions.

13. Video recorders and flash photograph cameras are not permitted in the theater, unless a permit is issued by the organization and the theater.

14. The Mexican Folkloric Dance Society of New York is not liable for any loss and injury incurred as result of the participation in this event.

15. Each music piece must be on a separate cassette tape or CD, clearly identified with the name of the song, region and group name. If using tape, tape must be cued.

16. Access to the backstage will be granted only to those who hold an ID badge given by the MFDSNY organization.

1. La decisión de los jueces es definitiva.

2. Se debe entenderse que el concurso es exclusivamente bailes tradicional folclóricos regionales Mexicanos. (NO intrepertado).

3. Los grupos a concursar deben de estar presentes en la ciudad dos día antes del evento.

4. 6 parejas por grupo son la cantidad mínima y un máximo de 12 parejas que se requiere para concursar.

5. Grupos folclóricos a concursar deberán hacer entrega de dos monografías del estado a interpretar un mes antes del concurso 1) Una monografía  para entregar a el jurado (vía email), explicando las características del baile y su informante. 2)Reseña de la estampa a presentar, esta debe ser subministrada en ingles y español para publicación del libro del programa (reseña no debe de ser mas grande de un párrafo de 7 líneas).

6. Todos los grupos a participar en el concurso deberán tener un nivel semiprofesional o Profesional.

7. No se permitirá el uso de escenografitas, ni iluminación ya que todos deberán utilizar las mismas condiciones de evaluación.

8. La Música puede ser en vivo o grabada. Los jueces tomaran en cuenta la originalidad de las interpretaciones, según la autenticidad de la región a interpretar.

9. Es obligatorio que un representante de grupo asista a una junta, que se llevara acabo el Viernes, 19 de septiembre del  2008 ala 1:00pm.  (Lugar y hora por confirmar)

10. Para poder participar en este evento su grupo debe ser pre-registrado y pagado una cuota de $50.00 sin reembolso y enviado un video en formato VHS o DVD dos mes antes de la competencia. (NINGUNA EXCEPCION)

11. El día de la competencia todos los grupos deberán de registrarse en la entrada del teatro el Sabado, 20 de septiembre del 2008 a las 3:00p.m. El ensayo obligatorio sucederá septiembre 20 a las 4 :00 p.m.

12. Cada grupo tendrá un máximo de 12 minutos de tiempo  en el  escenario, esto  incluye entrada y salida del ya mencionado. Ninguna Excepcion)

13. No se permitirá el uso de cámaras fotográficas ni cámaras de video, a menos que tengan un permiso de MFDSNY o del teatro.

14. Mexican Folkloric Dance Society of New York no se hace responsable por la perdida de artículos o negligencias de los participantes durante el evento.

15. Se requiere que la música de cada grupo este en formato de cassette o CD, claramente identificada con el nombre de la canción (es) a presentar y el nombre del grupo. Si utiliza cassette, la cinta debe ser cued.

16. Acceso al escenario será otorgado sólo a las personas con gafete de identificación dada por la organización de MFDSNY.
